Mapping marine debris across Australia
Organised information is key to good and justifiable decision making.
As a multi-disciplinary marine scientist, I am currently using citizen science big-data to understand the sources and sinks of marine debris across Australia, to inform management plans. I am also working with an international team (GOAP) in the development of an accounting framework for the Ocean, to ensure we consider social, environmental, and economic values in our decisions.
